Description

Added to the profile of anyone identified with Virginia.

To add this sticker to a profile, place the string similar to the text in Code used: column of Examples table anywhere in the biography part of the profile. Usually you should put it next to the text describing a Sticker, but it should always be below the == Biography == heading and above the == Sources == heading.

This sticker may be added to the profile of anyone identified with Virginia at any time in its history.

Note: This sticker does not add a category to the profile.

Flag of Virginia
... ... ... lived in Virginia.
{{Virginia Sticker}}

If text other than "... ... ... lived in Virginia" is desired, you can override the default by adding a |text= variable. For example:

Flag of Virginia
... ... ... was born in Virginia.
{{Virginia Sticker|text= was born in Virginia.}}

Both the default text added when you use {{Virginia Sticker}} and the |text= variable begin with {{Name}}, which pulls the person's full name from the profile's datafield entries (for details, see WikiTree Variables in Templates). If the sticker is not on a "people profile", there's no information for it to retrieve, so it returns ... ... ... instead.

If you would prefer that the sticker's text not begin with the name created by the use of {{Name}}, use the |fulltext= variable. For example:

Flag of Virginia
Native Virginian
{{Virginia Sticker|fulltext= Native Virginian}}

Instructions for Use

See Help:Stickers for how to use stickers.
I recommend no more than two lines of text (about 60-70 characters). Stickers are used more to highlight information than to impart it, so a sticker saying "John Doe settled in Virginia in 1752." (37 characters) could be used to highlight a paragraph that talks about the details of where he settled, with whom, and where he had been before. ~ Liz Shifflett, 20 November 2018
If you'd like to display two flags (from/to locations), see the Migrating Ancestor Template.
Following is required for all templates that use parameters. It reflects information already presented above. You can only use one of the parameters (if you use both, the sticker returns with only the text entered for the "fulltext" parameter). ~ Noland-165 15:36, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
